The child size is made from a low density polythene so as not to encourage the bite reflex. If they are bitten, as they are soft, the mouth is protected. They have a shallow bowl so that food slips off easily, and the bowl can be cut down to a smaller size if necessary. The handle can also be angled if required for a specific child. Just plunge the spoon into boiling water to heat the polythene, then reshape to the specific shape required. On cooling the new shape will be retained. To return the spoon to its original shape, repeat the procedure.

Handle – 101mm x 12mm

The adult sized spoons are made in slightly firmer material than the child size. They have a very shallow bowl with a slight rim to retain the food. They also have grips on the handle to make them more manageable.

The main body of the cup is angled at 30 degrees so that the minimal wrist action is needed during drinking. There are two handles, one on either side, that are larger than usual to allow ease of handling. The base of the cup is again larger than usual for maximum stability. The lid has drinking holes in it, the size and the number of holes can be changed according to the needs of the user. Specific requirements must be listed on individual orders. The lid also has a small lip which goes into the mouth to minimise spillages and is wedge shaped to keep the tongue down. This cup is also suitable for elderly or perhaps stroke victims.
